Bathe in us
watercolor and ink
The painting was started and finished in its entirety on April 10, 2014 (8pm-1am) at MinneCon (Hosted by my friends, Turn Back Now.) Its the first in a series I’m doing based around lyrics by the band. The piece was inspired by the song “Monty’s Molotovs" on their brand new demo "C’est la Guerre de la Vie."
I recently started installing a few of my sculptures around the yard where I live. I’m interested in seeing how they will be affected by the weather. The tetrahedron is starting to rust (mainly because I put it out in the bird bath and then March Blizzard 2014 happened.) The construction of the 3-D maze chain should hold up in the face of rot or deterioration of the wood.
I have one more i’ll be putting out there, but I’ll need to clear treat it beforehand because there is a component made of laminated board and if the wood expands, it will split the lamination.
This will be an ongoing experiment, so expect more on this topic every so often.
Coming up on Thursday, April 10, I will be involved in a hybrid music/art convention called MinneCon. The convention is hosted by Twin Cities rock band (and art collective) Turn Back Now at Kitty Cat Klub in Dinky Town (Minneapolis.) TBN will be releasing a comic book on May 22, and this con serves as a pre-order show. There’s a great lineup of bands performing as well as a feature on visual artists, as well. Each one will be selling work and creating on the spot. Some man paint, some man draw, some may print.
I’ll be there doing some original watercolor drawings. The paintings will be available for sale. I’ll be bringing some prints for sale, as well.
Come check out some awesome bands and rad art. And say hi too.
Please give this a reblog, if you feel inclined. Thanks!
Workin on sketches for MinneCon. Watchout! I’ll post some stuff about that later.
Also, check out my new hat.
GUYS SPAGHETTIGENT IS GONE POST PICS OF YOURSELF
Next piece in the series.
Slow and steady, this series is.
Thanks to all who have given me stories too. I’m always accepting more.
This lovely young man (find him on Tumblr under the handle spaghettigentlemen) is demonstrating one of the reward levels offered in my Kickstarter. For a mere $200.00, you (or a loved one, pet, or anything that’s respectful and not copyrighted) will be put on a personalized card, your face made into a cartoon.
You also get multiple copies of the game, as well as expansion card sets.
This is part of a project of a good friend of mine. Check out the kickstarter. He’s putting a lot of hard work and heart into this and he deserves to have this sucker go through! Theres some pretty rad incentives too, uncluding copies of the game when its printed and special edition and custom cards!
I also volunteered my image as an example for one of the custom cards. I’m lookin hot!
If you dig, give this a reblog.
Here’s a first (shitty) proof of one of the first blocks of the series. This is part of why I needed stories. Thanks for the wonderful feedback, you guys. If anyone has more stories, please send them over.
bonus photo of the block too. Lucky you!
