Geekerie Hoops by Courtney Price

I’m consistently amazed that embroidery can be used as a force for snarky, sardonic humor and not just grandma bible quotes. Where there’s shameless irreverance, a needle, and a will, there’s a way, it seems. Crafty Courtney Price has got me jumping through geek-flavored hoops, which you can purchase over at her etsy or give her a shout for commissions.

The Death of Superman

2013

steel rod, laminated 2x4

Every superhero has their weakness. Superman has kryptonite. Iron Man has his heart. The Hulk has anger (which, ironically, is his strength as well.) Not everyone knows about these vulnerabilities, but the ones who do, tend to exploit them.

We all have weaknesses, but they aren’t usually on the surface. There may not be super villains, but there are still people that will set you ablaze just because they know how.

Once spring finally hit, most of my cats’ time has been spent in the window staring at the birds and bunnies in the court yard with short mutual licking intermissions.

This is what design should be used for. Fantastic.
